Bryton Shang

Bryton Shang is the founder and CEO of Aquabyte, a Silicon Valley and Norway-based venture-backed company applying machine learning and computer vision to aquaculture fish farming for biomass estimation, sea lice counting, and feed optimization and formulation. Bryton was named to the 2019 Forbes 30 Under 30 in Manufacturing & Industry.

Graduating at the top of his engineering class at Princeton University, Bryton has led several venture-backed startups. Bryton built deep learning algorithms to diagnose cancer as CTO of HistoWiz, a biotechnology firm. He also co-founded iQ License, a brand licensing platform, and Nikao Investments, an algorithmic trading firm.

Alok Saxena

A graduate of Princeton University, Alok built neural-network trading algorithms at DRW, a Chicago-based trading firm. At Princeton, Alok graduated cum laude as an Operations Research and Financial Engineering major.

Ranked high in many US math competitions, Alok was also a member of the US Physics Team.

In his spare time, Alok enjoys social dancing.

Vidar Onarheim

Vidar has worked as a fishfarmer, both on smoltfarms and in seabased fishfarms. His education is both within aquaculture from Fiskarfagskulen i Austevoll and as bachelor in planning and administration from Høgskulen i Volda. He has worked with sales to the fishfarming industry for 15 years or so and has been busy arranging the yearly AqKva-conference since 2003.

Hobbies are food, beers and fishing.

Ulv Christian Sæther

Ulv started his aquaculture career at age 15, working for Marine Harvest as a technician. Along with working, he also studied aquaculture and management at Nord University. He ended his career in Marine Harvest as a site manager assistant in 2015 to search for new opportunities in Bergen.

Before joining Aquabyte, he worked three inspiring years in ROV AS as a Technical inspector/ROV-pilot

On his spare time Ulv likes to spend time with his family, go hiking, and if it is not raining in the Bergen area, he goes drone flying.

Elaine Maille

After graduating with a chemical engineering degree from Queen's University, Elaine worked in the Oil and Gas sector for 5 years as a Field Engineer working offshore in the North Sea. She worked for a variety of clients and was Lead Project Engineer, introducing new wireline technologies into the location. She spent a year backpacking across South America prior to joining the Aquabyte team.

In her free time Elaine can be found traveling around and enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing.

Kristian Blom

Kristian grew up with fish farming having spent summers and weekends working on the farm, and he feels good to be back in the industry. He has spent the last 15+ years in tech as a developer and project and team manager. In addition to some freelance consulting, he has also co-founded and built a company.

His background is diverse and versatile and has involved telecom, online photo printing, web agencies, and the creation of sales solutions for window and door fabricators.

Kristian loves spending time with his wife, three kids, and his dog. He also does a lot of volunteer work for the local swimclub where he is the chairman of the board.

He occasionaly plays the bassguitar!

Gunnar Berg

After finishing my compulsory military service, I received my bachelor's in Aquaculture biology and my master's degree in aquaculture biology at the University of Bergen. During my student years I had a sole proprietorship counting salmon lice for salmon farms for the last three and a half years.

During my free time I like to go fishing.
